MY ROLE
'On My Way' includes a one-stop website that provides resources for youths to explore their education and career options as they transition into higher education.

As a design thinking intern, I conducted user interviews and iterative user testing to produce content for the 'On My Way' microsite prototype, catered to youths in Singapore. This included adapting complex job descriptions into simple and clear infographics and augmenting personal stories from young professionals.

Working alongside a group of diverse interns, the dynamic and fun-loving team contributed to the hybrid internship experience.

Latest Update (2024): The microsite has been developed to a full website under the Singapore government. The site has new features that were developed beyond this internship.
Throughout my internship, I've learnt quite a bit about writing for an audience. My biggest takeaway - and I truly believe can be applied to every day life as well - is that complex ideas can be communicated simply. Big ideas don't mean big words.

As a young designer starting out in the industry, I had many opportunities for hands-on experiences doing user research. I enjoyed listening to people talk about their experiences and their stories, and to nurture a safe space for them to share about themselves. I loved being challenged when it came to drawing insights and connecting the dots too, and I felt like there was always something new to learn about the human experience.

During this time, I had worked with a team that were close to my age, but we were from diverse backgrounds. Differences did bring some friction, mostly around beliefs and ideas, but we grew from that. I've learnt a lot from my peers - not just from the ways they frame and approach problems and solutions, but also from their personalities and work ethics.

Because we were a young team (but still under supervisors), we were energetic, fun and thoughtful of ways to break the norm. We were supportive of one another - simply because we were all trying to figure out life together. This internship was the first to build my confidence as a designer and communicator.
